Over 30 club members tested their climbing mettle against the fearsome climb.
Ok, so being Essex, this was in national terms, a minor ramp rising 43m (142ft) over 0.8km (0.4m), giving an average gradient of 6%. Nevertheless this just meant having to attack it harder and faster.
Awards were given out to various age related categories, plus anyone brave enough to give the feared singlespeed a run.
A fun morning was had by all, and the organising team did a fantastic job, including the laying on of tea, coffee, sausages and doughnuts to all who took part.
