First Walden Velo Hill Climb - 23/10/2016

In perfect autumnal conditions the first Walden Velo Hill Climb took place just outside the village of Wendens Ambo.
Over 30 club members tested their climbing mettle against the fearsome climb.

Ok, so being Essex, this was in national terms, a minor ramp rising 43m (142ft) over 0.8km (0.4m), giving an average gradient of 6%.  Nevertheless this just meant having to attack it harder and faster.

Awards were given out to various age related categories, plus anyone brave enough to give the feared singlespeed a run.

A fun morning was had by all, and the organising team did a fantastic job, including the laying on of tea, coffee, sausages and doughnuts to all who took part.
