Ride 101 - 21st June 2015

Now in its 3rd year, Walden Velo’s cyclo-sportive ‘Ride 101’ will be run on 21st June 2015.  The event that derives its name in honour of the local “101 Engineer Regiment”, will again be held at Carver Barracks just outside Saffron Walden.  This being a special year for 33rd and 101 Regiments as they celebrate “BD75” (seventy five years of bomb disposal), extra routes have been added alongside the 75 and ‘iconic’ 101 mile distances.

  • A new “33” mile ride open to anyone aged 12+ with parent / guardian
  • And a “50” miler to rekindle the memories of the Tour De France Carnival Ride from last year.

The rides have plentiful feed stations on route, and chip timing.

At Carver Barracks you will have safe, free parking and changing facilities with showers. Before you start there will be tea and coffee available and you can have your bike checked over by our on-site mechanic. Once you have completed your chosen distance your ride times are texted to you and there will be free food, including a choice of hot pasta, and drinks served.

The cost for the “75” and “101” is £26, while the “33” is £15 and the “50” is £24. Not only should you get a great ride, but you'll be supporting our chosen Charity too, the "Injured Soldiers Fund" of both the "33" & "101" Engineers and all the soldiers at Carver Barracks.
